There is going to be a firefighter laid to rest in Lancaster, Ohio tomorrow. He died while serving his community and performing his duty.
I did not know this gentleman. I did read about him in the Lancaster Eagle Gazette. I was in a meeting where a fellow fire fighter shared a little about the man, his co-worker and friend. He still appeared to be in shock.
I’m not eloquent enough, nor did I know him at all, to write about him or his service career.
I just wanted to take a moment of my life to thank him. And all like him, who dedicate their careers, and as in all too many cases, their lives, for our safety and well being.
Thank you Lt. Joseph McCafferty for your dedication and your sacrifice. May God be with you and your family and friends during this difficult time.
