Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone!
Here’s Ireland’s National Anthem in English:
But it’s best heard in Irish, or as an instrumental:
We all love something(s). I love being Irish. I love the faith and courage of the Irish. I love the perseverance. I love the stubbornness. I love the feel of the air of Ireland. I love the beautiful faces of the Irish. I love the food. I love the stone. I love the music of their voices and lilt of their accent. I love the green of the country. I love the roll of the hills. I love that they hold on to their past and bring it with them to the future.
I love that America is full of Irish. And that the Irish love America. We’re connected by blood and ideals.
Wearing the green is a celebration of everything Irish. Because being Irish is worth celebrating!
“May luck be our companion
May friends stand by our side
May history remind us all
Of Ireland’s faith and pride.
May God bless us with happiness
May love and faith abide.”
Today we celebrate being Irish through a man. St. Patrick was a real man with real beliefs. Perhaps there has been some exaggeration to the story of his life…. perhaps not. But the facts of his life are true enough and he is a huge inspiration still to the faithful.
Enjoy this day!
“Here’s to the land of the Shamrock so green,
Here’s to each Lad and his darlin Colleen,
Here’s to the ones we love dearest and most.
May God bless ole Ireland, that’s an Irish mans toast.”
