Have A Seat

Four chairs came in to the house today.

Might not seem like a big deal.  And really, it’s not.  But I find a little bit of joy in it.   So much of my family time, as a child, as a young parent, as the parent of teens, with friends-has been spent around a table.   Eating, talking, playing games.   Living life by doing the things we need to do to get through life.

Be together.

Eat together.

Pray together.

Play together.

I want to sit at the table and have a meal.  I want to gather there and play games.   I want to continue doing the important things we have spent our lives doing.  Around a table.

But there’s only four chairs.  Some of you may have to stand.  I’ll take turns with you.
