Hello World
I love my connectivity to the world.
But I have lost it for a short time.
We have been hit and hit pretty hard by devastating storms. More than 500,000 people are without electric service in our state alone. I can’t even get the news to be able to see what is going on.
But I have a short window to get a blog out!
Priorities you know.
It is one of the hottest days of the year. We were hit yesterday. I have seen houses and cars crushed. I have not heard of anyone being hurt directly by the storms …. yet.
They are saying it will be anywhere from 5 to 7 days to get every one connected.
Nursing homes are without power, but have to have generators for life supporting equipment. But that puts a lot of the elderly at risk of the heat.
Some people don’t have water because they depend on electric for their pumps.
I have heard sirens on and off since yesterday.
It’s wonderful to see gangs of people helping one another. The word “gang” having an entirely new meaning.
I don’t want anyone to think I’ve no interest in your wise and funny words. I do. I just can’t get to them!
If you believe in prayer please say a prayer for those affected by the storms, and the heat and the lack of water. Worse things have happened. But that doesn’t mean this isn’t a difficult time for many.
Some houses are split right down the middle. Some electrical lines have trapped people in their cars for hours.
Please be safe everyone.
I hope when I get home I have electric. But I don’t expect it for many days.
