Here we go again.
It’s one year, blink, and the next year is here.
#####
I don’t want to place an entire year’s worth of burden on a one second time change tonight. So instead of wishing for a full happy new year, I’ll start a little smaller.
I hope tomorrow that all of my friends, family, loved ones, or just kind of liked ones wake up safe and sound. I hope the same people wake up a little happier than when they went to sleep. I hope every one weighs one ounce less than when they went to sleep, or one ounce more, depending on their weight wishes. I hope any aches are a little less painful, and a little more bearable. I hope that there is one more smile during their day, than there was today. I hope there is one less reason to cry.
I hope there is one more comic to grin over. One more story to read. One more brilliant idea to act on. One more step taken to achieving a goal. I hope for one more prayer said for someone else. One more kind act taken on behalf of a stranger.
One more thank you would be nice. One grateful acknowledgement of someone in your life. One more selfless act.
I hope everyone can look in the mirror and wink back at that charming face grinning at them.
I hope there is a little less hate in an angry heart.
I hope there is good food shared with laughter and chatter.
One more hand than yesterday reaching out to someone else.
I hope there is one more person singing a Doo Wah Ditty or Twinkle Star kind of song. One more person being sung to.
One more heart feeling the burst of new love. One more heart healed and ready to love.
I hope for a moment, for everyone, every day. A good moment. A reflective moment. A prayerful moment. A love moment. A friend moment. A happy moment. A content moment. A contemplative moment. A peaceful moment.
I hope for everyone to now think ‘moment’ sounds funny after reading it so many times. A funny moment.
A moment of power.
A minute to be alone.
A minute to share.
A moment of thanks. Thank you for the moments you spent reading my thoughts. Talking to me. Listening to me. Being with me.

Just a second….This seems like a second time around for this post. Ahhhh, a second helping. It remains steadfast and true to what I believe.
What ever your thoughts of a ‘good life’ are, I hope these thoughts are played out in your world.
I hope for our world to be better, one moment at a time.
Peace.
I wondered why you posted this on December 30th, but then realized that you have readers world wide and for some it is New Years Eve. Way to support all your readers.

Thank you so much Marsha. I was going to try and write one similar to it but I really liked this one so I just brought it up from 2009. I didn’t even like adding the beginning and end. thank you for such heartfelt feedback and sharing. 🙂

Colleen, once again your words inspire me and make me feel alive. Your hopes for moments are things I would like to do every day and feel like if I could just do a few it would be better. Now….perhaps a framed copy of this with my favorite picture of the Irish Pirate Queen on the beach….that is art my friend! Happy New Year with love, Mary

Colleen, my bike sits on the patio of our apartment sadly in need of repair. My Katy says “Mom, can’t Dad do this and that?”. Yes, he could change the tire (so could I) but the brakes and some other adjustments need to be made. However, once those things are done I would like to ride in the San Antonio spring. I also insisted on a GOOD camera for my birthday this year, and WE now have one. So, I sure do hope that one day I can enjoy a ride with you and we can just spend some time…kindred spirits. Glad to be able to keep in touch:)

Ah Mary, I look forward to that bike ride! 🙂 We usually take our bikes in for a good over haul once a year on well used bikes. Just to make sure. 🙂 Loving bikes does not make one a good bike mechanic!
