Some days we are dragged through.
Some, we run through.
A few, we scream all the way.
Maybe even mutter under our breaths as we pass through.
Some days we don’t catch our breaths or a break.
But some days,
Well….world….
You’re just going to have to wait on me.
Because I have to stop.
When I have to stop.
Please be patient with me.

Some days are just meant to be.
However I need them to be.
SOmetimes we all need to just take a break.

Yes we do, the trick is to pay attention to that need. 🙂

I agree with you on this – it’s knowing when that’s the hardest…

Funny, as a child he knows when he needs to stop. Why do we lose that?

Because we think too much 😉 We don’t listen to our bodies no more. If we did, we would know when…

Exactly. When we start to lose our child like behaviors and trusts, we also lose our child like wisdom.

Because I could not stop for Death,
He kindly stopped for me;
The carriage held but just ourselves
And Immortality.
Reminded me of this first stanza – Emily Dickinson

You have the right view on this …. when we are left behind or need a break we should just asked be waited on.

🙂 Yes we should. Children really are smarter than us sometimes.

I love your “No Hurries” and “No Worries” tags on this post. I couldn’t agree more. Sometimes you just have to stop where you are and catch your breath. I seem to be having a morning like that. 🙂

I bet you are! 🙂 So I hope that means you stopped, breathed, and was kind to yourself. 🙂

I think that is one of the biggest lessons of motherhood! Things take much longer when there is children involved but they do come around. I’ve been stuck at the park many times.. much longer than I anticipated. Some days I really thought we would be spending the night because one of the children wouldn’t stop going down the slide or needed more pushes on the swing! You really have to practice your patience and know that they’ll eventually get going…on their time!!!

I don’t know how much patience I had as a parent, but as a grandparent it sure seems to have multiplied! 🙂
