Bubba’s A Nurse

Dad always told her she should be a nurse.

She always said she wanted to be a nurse.

Life took her down some  other paths.  You know how that happens.  You finish school.  Get a job.  Meet a guy.  Get married.  Have babies.  You work to support what you already have.   Life turns you in to an adult.  Your children grow.  Your children begin lives of their own.  You are a full fledged adult.  Some may think you’re past changing your course or going after dreams.   You don’t have time to consider getting what you want.

Then one day it dawns on you.

The only time you have to make it happen.

Is now.

You work a full time job.  You go to school full time.  You give up a lot.  To get something you always wanted.   You’re tired.  You’re asocial.  You’re OCD about your homework and your grades.  Because who wants the nurse who only got a D on the very thing you want her to give you comfort and care for?

Today there is no more shoulda/woulda/coulda-s.

Today.

Bubba is a nurse.

Congratulations.

On creating.  Making. Living.

Your dream.

It is your courage that made this dream come true.

Bubba's A Nurse!

And both parents were there to watch.

In person.

In spirit.

Happy living the dream Bubba!

  1. I’m a little bit bias here but nurses are amazing. Well done Bubba, and in the circumstances and knowing the effort this took, doubly well done.

  4. You never know what to expect from your titles… but this one was right on the money. I’m sorry that I don’t know of Bubba’s relation to you but it sure looks like she earned it… BTW, I wouldn’t want a D nurse sticking me. 😨

  5. I am Bubba, Chatter Master’s sister, and I am overwhelmed! To be the focus of a blog that is read around the world by so many wonderful people is one thing. To have those wonderful people take the time to congratulate me is another. It was an amazing journey and a fabulous evening. Thank you so much!

Colleen; this is beautiful! On another day it will surely bring tears, but today I am so incredibly happy that it only made my smile stretch even further across my face 🙂 Thank you for your encouragement, your enthusiasm, and your beautiful words.

If I encouraged or inspired you, and I’m awed at the thought, use it! There are dreams out there ready to come true!

    Love to all,
    Nurse Bubba

  6. Colleen, I have a thing for nurses, even nurses’ named Bubba. I come from a long line of nurses, My Mom, her sister (my Aunt), my sister, my cousin (my aunt’s daughter) and the 1st three adult women I dated were all nurses, 2 introduced to me by my mom, so more power to Bubba. It is a career of caring, of being special, of having someone else’s best interests at heart. So Congratuilations to Nurse Bubba. thank you for caring enough to persue this career. Take care, Bill

  7. Congrats to Bubba 🙂 from Australia. Determination, sacrifice, hard work, not many know how to achieve any of these any more. You have and should be proud as much as your sister obviously is ❤
