A Gift

My husband and I stood in the kitchen talking.

He said something that made me laugh.

He smiled, staring at me.

I asked what he was doing.

He said he just liked hearing me laugh.

Now that, is a true gift, for both of us.

And that is what marriage should be all about – simply enjoying each other’s company without expectations. You captured a wonderful moment that is worth remembering.

    • Thank you Nancy. I was on a hike with a friend relaying that story to her and thought….we were talking about CHristmas and gifts and such. And when I told her this little story I told her “that’s my Christmas gift right there”. I knew how important it was to me. Thank you for knowing it too.

How wonderful to take that moment and acknowledge love. Many don’t do that after being together for a while. There’s a lesson it this 🙂
