Where He Is

There is no one else

I would follow

In to the dark

With no light calling from the other end.

On just his words

“Trust me”.

He made me go first

In all of the other tunnels.

  3. That would take a lot of trust for me to go into a dark tunnel like that! He made you go first but I have a feeling once you took that first step into that dark tunnel that he was right there beside you for the rest of the way!

    • 😀 We’ve gone through quite a few tunnels Priceless. Actual and figurative. He’s always been there. Well, but that one time we went through the haunted tunnel on a bike ride and I’m riding alone, come out the other side, keep riding, eventually look back….he wasn’t there. I rode back to the tunnel. I was yelling his name. It was dark, too long to see the light at the other end. No where to be seen and he didn’t answer.

He had dropped his sunglasses in the tunnel when he took them off to go through, had his ear plugs in with music playing, and didn’t hear me yelling. That gave me the willies!!!

I read the tags so… Happy Anniversary! Beautiful post, CM. Where is the tunnel? Reminds me of the tunnels in the Pittsburgh area.

I am glad you captured this in a photograph. I like the darkened tunnel and his going first into it. So wonderful how you wrote this and glad you have this faith in him, too. I would follow any of my kids, my brothers, in the old days, my mother and father, blindly into any situation, Colleen. Still would do this, with a little hesitation. Never quite sure of the dark!

    • 🙂 I didn’t mind the dark of the tunnel as much as what might be IN the darkness. 🙂 We’ve gone through some tunnels where there are bats. I didn’t want to disturb them, or have them disturb me!!

And yes, there are some I would follow, walk with or go first for, in any situation. 🙂
