Being Joy

We took our young granddaughters

To see Inside Out.

One of the youths of my heart leans over

During the movie

And tells me

“Joy is like you.”

I say

“She is?”

She says

“Yes, she acts like you”

I experience sheer delight.

“And her hair is like yours”.

And my Joy is complete.

… From the mouths of babes. How sweet, Colleen! I am sooo looking forward to being a grandparent. Not ready for my babies to have babies yet, though. Not sure how that’s going to work yet. Guess I need to see that movie in preparation!

    • Stacey, go ahead and start looking forward to it. I will do NOTHING but help pump you up for this. I thought I was prepared for this kind of love. I mean, I’ve got my own babies, right? No, oh no, there is no way to explain it. 🙂 Joy doesn’t come close to touching it. 🙂

  4. That is so sweet! I love it! And I love your new hair color! 🙂

Aw, that is so awesome! ( sorry I can overuse that word at times.) Love the hair too, and now I really want to see it. Maybe before summer ends. Sweet, and a sweet moment 🙂

  6. How cool is that? Love the illustration too. You merged your art with that of the movie’s!

That is the best movie review in the history of movie reviews, MBC. 🙂 And your grand is a sharp one! Joyous. ❤

    • She is sharp MBM. 🙂 I was pretty impressed that a not quite 5 year old and a 7 year old got so much from this movie. Well done movie peeps!

And she does give a good review. 😉

  8. Oh we’ve been waiting to see that movie, patiently I might add, I think we’re done waiting. I’d better get moving.
Love the hair color if you were to do it, I would smile with joy.

I am probably going to wait for this to hit the home options to watch it, but how cool and wonderful. I don’t even know Joy from the movie and I can totally see that. ❤

Bonus: if I ever "lego-ize" you, I have "Joy hair" I can use 😀

    • I really enjoyed this movie. Enough so I didn’t mind going to it twice. When I normally don’t care to spend time going to a movie once. 😉 And thank you for such a wonderful compliment. And me with blue hair. I have to start seriously considering this. AND the idea I could some day be lego-ized! 🙂

    • Awwwww! Thank you Maggie! 🙂 And guess what? Our neighbor’s son was talking to me and he said… “hey I haven’t seen this movie yet but I saw a clip and you remind of the one with blue hair”. I said “Joy?” and he said yes! And he hadn’t read my blog!!! 🙂

  20. Debra says:

What a precious moment, Colleen! That surely added to your joy–so now you are completely full! 🙂
