Silence Followed

I told my friend

There are many ‘better than me people’ in the world.

…..

….

..

.

Silence followed.

I could hear those proverbial crickets.

I thanked her for not correcting me on that.

I would have hated to be wrong.

Wow…I think my response might have said something like “Maybe, but you are also better than a lot.of people in this world”…Just my two cents.

  2. Maybe…but you’re up there.

  3. You are so much better than many others Colleen. Not all are able to view longer than their own nose tip.

I am not sure what I would have said but maybe to the tune of, “Who?!”

  5. tric says:

I might have said ‘let me think’ (tongue in cheek of course)

  6. There are people that are better than us but better at what? Better at making a living? Better at parenting? Knowing what it is they are better at helps us improve ourselves in that/those areas. Over all “better”, I don’t believe that. Because we all have our problems too. But, I understand your thinking. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜‰

  7. Let me think a sec here… Um, no. I don’t think so. ❀ ❀ ❀

Ha! Sorry to bust your bubble, but you were definitely wrong. You are one of a kind and no one could be a better YOU than you.

Ah…okay…that is odd on her part though a lovely laugh between friends. I mean maybe she didn’t quite hear you or was lost in her thoughts and zoned all time and space? That can happen, and I am guilty of it when there is a lot on my mind, not intentional but my mind just goes on forced Zen meditation pause, comes back though quickly. She may have had such a moment?
I think you are lovely and I am sure she does too. Glad you laughed. Life is too funny to let these things go without a nod to the humor of a moment. πŸ™‚

    • I will give her the benefit of believing it was one of those things that prompted the silence…… It IS possible. πŸ˜‰ But now I have the bonus of being able to remind her of it as well. πŸ˜‰

Your friend must have been distracted. I think you’re pretty wonderful, at least what you show us through your blog. πŸ™‚
