Even as night falls
And darkness reigns
The evergreen tree is still green.
Regardless of whether anyone can see it.
Just as you and I
Even in our darkest hours
Exactly who we are supposed to be.
Beautiful ❤ I was just thinking about evergreens, in this wintry bareness that has descended upon us in the span of a week. We still go on.
I was looking at my little tree out back and loving the dark green. After having spent the weekend gathering up leaves from the mighty oak, it was a contrast to see this little fella still all green. And I thought, how nice it’s still green, even if no one sees it. 🙂 And like us, that’s right, we go on.
It is so pretty!
Profound and poetic, I love the evergreen as it goes with the coming season as well. And my favorite color, green. Winter is coming and yet in the dark we still “are”. Beautiful. 🙂
Thank you Niaaeryn. I love the evergreens and fall and even winter if it is nice. 😉
True. They seem prettier in winter though to me. I think it may be the holidays or the snow.
I think they were made to shine in the winter. 😉
If a tree falls in the woods and it’s no one’s there to hear it, is it still green?
Was it green to start with? If it has green mold does that count? If no one was there to hear it how do we know it fell? Was it cut down? Did it trip? I think we need to know more before answering this.
Okay, I’m just going to sit here and rock back and forth in a catatonic state while you figure all that out.
I’m now just going to be mesmerized by your rocking back and forth…..
I’m sure we’ll accomplish many wonderful things this way.
You stop rocking. I’ll stop staring. We will pretend this never happened. And move on……
Okay, but I have to reach one million rocks first…
I get that. Really. I do.
The green part of this is great as the trees get bare. We must keep being ourselves, too. 🙂
Don’t we though Robin? Sometimes it’s so hard when we feel we are being judged harshly or incorrectly, to remain who we are…..
We are who we are regardless of what light there is around us. Love your thought process 😊
Thank you Jenn! And that is a good statement!
Oh – thank GOD I found your post today! Thanks, Colleen!
You’re welcome Stacey! 🙂
This says it all, very profound!
