From where you are.
Even a tree
Can bend and sway
Right where it is.
That’s true! Nice metaphor!
🙂 Thank you Marissa 🙂
Just as algae sways in the sea’s floor.
Ohhhhhhhh!!!!!! That’s a great one Eric!
“Deep roots are not reached by the frost”. I love the depth of thought behind this little poem, Colleen. We all need a bit of grounding.
Oh I love that OB.
And thank you. Being grounded doesn’t have to keep us from growing or moving does it?
I don’t think so. Being grounded means we can change while holding on to our base values, and appreciate change but not be swayed too easily like a reed 🙂
🙂 I like it. The being grounded. I think we can even soar, while grounded. Though there are those who may not agree with that. 😉
I think so too. I am interested to know why they don’t agree!
Possibly the analogy of being grounded AND soaring. 😉
wonderful poem, colleen –
Thank you Beth 🙂
Thank you April 🙂
I love the drawing and the words are totally spot on!
Thank you Lynz!!!
Weren’t dreams supposed to be in B&W? 😉
But….it’s not a dream. 🙂
Love this. Yes. Yes. And yes! ❤ ❤ ❤
Thank you Tess! 🙂
This art and words meant a lot to me, Colleen. I tell my grandkids they are blessed, to appreciate your “roots” and use them to grow strong and secure. Knowing everyone loves you should really help ground them while also allowing them to “soar.”
That is a lovely lesson for the grands Robin ❤
That is exactly right. We don’t have to run from our circumstances. We just need to learn how to move and bend the right way.
I like that. That I can be rooted and secure, and still move with the wind. 🙂
What a great perspective to share, Colleen. Being a bit “rooted” myself, I like this reminder.
🙂 Some of us flourish this way. 🙂
And a beautiful tree it is as well as the words 🙂
Thank you Niaaeryn. I love drawing trees. 🙂
Thank you 🙂
