When he is gone
There will be sorrow
And regrets.
When he is gone
There will be questions
Without answers.
When he is gone
There will be chances no more
And opportunity gone.
When he is gone
The stories
Will go with him.
When he is gone
The laughter he has
Goes with him.
When he is gone
You cannot
Go to him.
When he is gone
It won’t matter
That you meant to.
When he is gone
Only the memories
You took time to make
Will remain.
I hope this is not a special loved one who is sick or dying, Colleen. It already has been a tough year for your family. (hugs)
In any case, this is a living tribute to someone with many multiple gifts you listed here:
Stories, Laughter and Memories. β‘

The last three lines are very poignant and so true! Take the time now to make those memories because one day he will be gone. Wonderful, Colleen!

Beautifully written, only when gone some regret what if, I wish, I shldnt have. I guess we learn from gone that when it is there, less bad be done and best good be imparted and shared. Lest we know, the next moment we wonder if only I had, or hadent

Those of us who “get this” really do, and those who don’t, just don’t seem to know what they’re missing. This is so meaningful and important, Colleen.

I know Debra. Sadly, what I wrote won’t make a difference to those it should. But those who don’t need the words, will absorb them and feel them.
