I slept in.
It felt great.
Until I woke up.
And realized how much I missed.
The older I get
The less time I want to waste on sleep.
There’s too much to do!
Sleep is not luxurious any more.
Ahh, Ms. Brown, on this topic we differ. Sure there is plenty to do yet if we are not physically and mentally rested, we miss out on all there is to do. 🙂
🙂 Oh Eric, we don’t really differ. Sleep and rest are amazing and necessary. It’s just interesting to me how when I was much younger I would think nothing of sleeping for 12 hours. Now, even though I love my sleep and rest, I think of so many things to do that sleeping in is never my plan. 🙂

What if they were having a party with ponies while you were asleep and they all left before you got up?
See, exactly! 😉
If I sleep until 6:00 am I feel like I am sleeping in. LOL!
I know. I love sleep and am quite miserable without it. But there’s so much to see and do!!
I agree! There is so much to be awake for!
I am of the same mind but it also applies at the end of the day. I hate going to bed. So my pattern is 12 midnight and when I’m coaching up at 5.
Today I’m on holidays and stayed until 8.30 and actually enjoyed it. Now to go see what I missed.
I tell my husband that when I retire I hope I can stay up until midnight or 1 and get up around 5 or 6. Feeling great of course. That’s what I’m going to request any way!
I am torn, on vacation with my Mom visiting in her apt. She likes to sleep in but I am accustomed to working early. So, I sleep in a little; or I get up early and nap later, Colleen. 😀
🙂 It can always be worked out can’t it Robin? 😉
Happy vacation time with your mom!
Thanks, Colleen! Hope you are enjoying your weekend. 🙂
I am. I hope you are too! Hello to your mom!
you are so right, but sleep is part of taking care of ourselves. that being said, i wake up early each morning, like a child, excited to see what will happen on that day )
That is the best way to wake up! 🙂
I have a little insomnia plan for you….
Ah yes…..been there. I do NOT enjoy that!
But it’s such a delicious treat to roll over, snuggle down and wake up an hour later, ready to get the day started!
There is truth to that MW51 🙂
Fortunately for me, sleeping past 6 AM is a luxury thanks to my inner time clock.
My natural clock keeps me up past midnight. My created clock due to world demands wants me up bright and early which has created a love for the peace of morning…..though mine isn’t really peaceful….getting ready for work and all. 🙂
I was a bit of a night owl when I was doing my clubbing but my inner clock could never quite keep up. Once I got pregnant, if I was up too late, I just started falling asleep, which is good because that’s pretty much what I needed to adjust to once my first was born!
Kids and jobs. Same effect on us! 😉
How wonderful to have a life that you don’t want to miss. Makes me feel good. 🙂
What a beautiful thing to say Paulette. ❤ thank you!
Haha I love it x
🙂 Thank you Lyn!
I missed out on leaving a comment for the post “You and Me.” I wanted to say that I’m VERY curious about that donut maker. Do you know if he’s single? 😉
And this post just makes me sad to think that at some point I may not want to sleep as much! I’ve decided that in heaven, though I won’t technically need it, I will still totally sleep. 🙂
The donut maker……I’ll check 😉
Sleep is good, actually, it is great. I have just noticed over the past few years I am often sad about ‘having’ to sleep. 🙂
Yeah, I hear ya. Sometimes I feel that way when I have a lot I need to get done. But mostly I’m like, “Yea! Bed time!” 🙂
Ha! I’m sure I’ve had those moments. 😉
