My uncle is looking into buying a car.
At the top of his considerations on what kind of car to get
Is whether or not his neighbor can get in and out of the car
Safely and with ease.
That’s the kind of consideration
That makes the world
A better place.
Perfect.

My Mom had a hard time getting into my brother, my other brother and sister in-laws vans. So, I definitely found one she could easily get into the lower seat, pivot her feet one by one into my Dodge Avenger. I got it when she had had a slight stroke in 2008. (I used my teachers union bank since I was still teaching. ..) Still works! π

That is nice of him. I know a lot of people with handicaps who need a wider berth.

He was driving us around and the discussion turned to discussing him looking for his next car. I was asking what kind of car he wanted. And he started telling me then explained why he wanted it. I thought it was such a genuinely kind thing to think about. π I took it as such a lesson in consideration. π

Well, like a morally corrupt boss of mine used to say, what’s the point in doing something good if the other person doesn’t know about it? You could always subtly email him a copy.

I did tell him about it. He seemed pleasantly surprised. We spent the weekend with he and the lovely aunt. But I don’t know if he read the comments after. I’ll do that, and remind him. π

I should have added, considering a neighbor goes beyond the level of caring commitment of thinking of family member’s abilities to fit into a car. This is a commendable and admirable attribute of your brother, Colleen. π

Thank you Robin. He is kind and considerate and didn’t even realize the impact he made on me when he said this. (Oh, it was my uncle not my brother. But I’m sure my brothers are just as wonderful. π )
