Pumpkin Analogy

Do you ever feel

How the pumpkin must have felt

Before it was popular?

 Just A Pumpkin

Do you ever wonder how the pumpkin feels about it’s popularity.

Now.

And wonder where all the love was

Before lattes and cookies stepped in

And suddenly made it popular?

Are pumpkins exasperated by it all?

Or reveling in finally being loved for their full potential?

hmmmm, these are deep questions…..and I’m not so deep. I’ll just keep hacking away at them so their ego doesn’t become so big after all of this hoopla!!

  2. It’s about time the pumpkin became popular! LOL! It sure was popular for only the wonderful pie it made!

  3. I liked pumpkins before it was cool!!

  4. Hmmm, never pondered that one. Now can’t get my mind off it. lol

Great question. I think it would depend on the pumpkin. If it gets a face painted on and then set on the door step, it would probably love that. Great attention, with happy oohs and ahhs from smiling visitors. But, if it’s like so many of the less fortunate who get cut up, stuffed with lights, screamed at by little kids who pass by and then made into a pie…probably not so much.

i think it depends if they are an extrovert or introvert –

  7. Reveling, I’m sure. I heard a party in the field next to us and man, they have big heads now. Yeah, take that as you will. 😀 😀 😀

I like pumpkins in all shapes and colors, Colleen. The new white or blue ones are cool, but orange is my favorite! 🙂
The pumpkin roll with cream cheese is scrumptious!

Very thought provoking…….Being popular does not always come easy…I sometimes wonder if being popular is really worth it.

  10. I hope it’s the latter. We should all be loved unconditionally for our flavor.

What a good question, Colleen! The grocery aisles are almost overcrowded with pumpkin “this and that” right now. I actually bought pumpkin applesauce today! I’m quite curious. Is it more pumpkin, more apple, or 50/50? I think pumpkin knew it was special all along and is just enjoying its late-bloomer status. 🙂 Cheers to all late bloomers!
