Running Spiritedly

I was walking down the sidewalk.

The wind was blowing with a strong and steady flow-it felt ever so soft on my face.  Making me smile by reflex.

And with it

Came the scampering leaves running spiritedly past my feet-crinkling crisply in their escape with the wind.

And it felt good.

    that’s so fun!

  6. We had about 2 minutes of leaf-crunching fall in Calgary and fell headfirst into winter! 😦 ❤

We don’t have too many trees to scrunch quite yet, Colleen, but I’m sure looking forward to when we do! It sounds very inviting. 🙂

    • Debra says:

I guess the trees don’t scrunch! LOL! The never-ending summer heatwave we’re experiencing has slowed down my processing. We are headed back into triple digits this week. The trees are afraid to drop their leaves!

      • HAHAHAHAHAHA! I knew what you meant though, when I read the first comment.

Triple digits? I’m so sorry Debra.

I wish for you a nice, long, slow drenching rain. NOthing heavy or fast, but long and slow.

  8. The other night I took the trash out and had to just stand there a minute in the twilight enjoying the warm breeze, the peaceful air, something yummy being cooked nearby. It was quite lovely. I ought to do that more often. I’m usually too frenetic to stop and just enjoy the peaceful solitude of nature once in a while. (And a neighbor’s cooking.) Sigh.

  9. Running through crisp leaves and shouting at the wind – nothing like it to raise the spirits!

This is a lovely in-the-moment post thanks for sharing. Very true. I have just started a poetry blog here on WordPress in case you have time to have a look? Today’s post relates to seeing the positive. Have a good day, Sam 🙂
