It Was Stupid, Really

I was driving in my car.

And a song came on.

A song from a long time ago.

A song that immediately conjured up vivid and powerful memories.

Memories of a time when I felt empowered, encouraged, on fire for life.

A time when I had broken chains, felt the freedom, and found out what I could do.

I cried while I sang along.

And I smiled.

It was stupid, really.

Not really.

  1. I do that all the time, it’s why I still use my car radio, instead of programmed music !

I am so tempted to guess the song … ‘American Pie’ (too easy) or ‘Ophelia’ (long shot). Help me out here! πŸ™‚

    • Hahahahahahaha! Oh Jim, you make me laugh. Okay, it was “Ireland” by Garth Brooks. It was what I used for my first black belt test. It was the best shape of my life, emotionally and physically. What a time!

It’s incredible how music can have a big impact on our memories and emotions. They can play some mean tricks. And it absolutely is not stupid – but wonderful! πŸ™‚
