Then I Dare

Too often I stand.

So very still.

Not taking a chance.

Not believing.

Not daring.

Not trusting.

But

It’s there,

That thing.

 

Basketball. Shoot. Don't shoot. No chance.

I remain

Where I am

No courage

No brass.

Still as I can be.

For as long as I can remain.

Until no longer

Dare I not

Move.

And

Then

I dare.

Take the shot. Take the chance. Move.
