She Has No Idea

I was holding her hand as we walked towards the ice cream shop.

Suddenly her little hand was holding mine a little tighter

And softly she said

“I’m so lucky you’re in my life”.

The earnest and truthful sound of a child’s love.

She has no idea how lucky I am.

May the beautiful child who holds our hand as a child be there to hold our hand when they’re an adult.

  9. Not to cheapen your experience with, I’m guessing, your granddaughter, but if you were taking me for ice cream, I’d have the same reaction! 😉 🙂
