Never as a child did I feel alone.
I always knew where to find a friend.
Or an adventure.
I sat in the woods,
On sunny days
And
In the snow,
I sat in my bedroom,
In the yard,
Or on the porch,
And took with me
A different world,
Everywhere I went.
Nowhere did I go alone.

It never bothered us then right. What changed? Why did we grow up.

Sigh…..I suppose we all must. I suppose not growing up has setbacks as well. But somethings I wish we could hang on to longer.

… beautiful… children have no limit on fantasy, no responsibilities and feel free… because they know that they are loved, that they are important and people care!

Me too! The only part of this, that has changed for me…I no longer need to sit with the sheets over my head and read by flashlight, so that my Mother will not discover the lights still on! “Books are a uniquely portable magic.” – Stephen King. Thank-you! Total aside…Benjamin and I LOVE the new tree with our special ornament! Benjamin said : “Tell Miss Chatter, it is the beautifulest tree!” Thank-you x 2!!

Tell Mr. Benjamin he is very welcome and I am so happy you both like the tree.
And just for fun, try the reading with the flashlight again. 😉 I remember those days. I would put my book on the floor between the bed and the window, lay on my stomach and read by the light that might come in from the moon!!!! (Maybe I’ll do a picture of that sometime!)

To this day I’m never without a book! There is something wondrous about getting lost in a good story, isn’t there, Colleen? I love your illustration!

My problem is…..I keep GETTING books, and carry them with me everywhere. But don’t read as much!!! Well, I read as much, but it’s blogs. I will always love the feeling of the book in my hands….the story as it enters my mind.
