Some nights I turn on the television,
Go visit Mayberry
And snooze off while I’m fishing with Andy and Opie.
Sometimes with Barney and Floyd too.
And a whistling tune roaming through my dreams.

They really were. I watched an interview with Andy recently where he said they never really discussed it but they wanted the show to have a feeling of like the 30’s or so, even though it was a later setting.

LOL! True. We visited Mayberry in North Carolina once. Got to visit the jail and Barber Shop and take a ride in Andy’s car. The kids loved it, they knew all about Mayberry from the DVD’S we had.

I know it wasn’t really a town, or taped there, but I would go there in a flash if I was anywhere close. I love that someone created it.

It’s been a very long time since I’ve visited with those friendly faces! I’m not even sure how to find them again, but I think I’d enjoy that very much.

Don’t forget a kitchen chat with Aunt Bea, MBC. Now I will have the whistle tune in my head on the way to work today!

That tune was brilliant, whoever came up with it.
