Me, Opie and Andy

Some nights I turn on the television,

Go visit Mayberry

And snooze off while I’m fishing with Andy and Opie.

Sometimes with Barney and Floyd too.

And a whistling tune roaming through my dreams.

Those were the days ; )

    • They really were. I watched an interview with Andy recently where he said they never really discussed it but they wanted the show to have a feeling of like the 30’s or so, even though it was a later setting.

It’s been a very long time since I’ve visited with those friendly faces! I’m not even sure how to find them again, but I think I’d enjoy that very much.

  5. I’m glad I’m not the only one. Sometimes it’s Lucy!

  7. TV and life was so innocent back then. Very peaceful show to send one on a blissful sleep

Don’t forget a kitchen chat with Aunt Bea, MBC. Now I will have the whistle tune in my head on the way to work today!
