Sway
Just so slightly
Leaning on the rope
Hands holding on
Barely
While thoughts drift and tumble
And heart aches for times and people past
While breeze only just whispers
Past hooded eyes
Sway
Twisting softly
Back and forth
Leaning on the rope
Holding on
Barely.

We do all learn by experience and by time, the more we feel like a free soul.
I’m happy to hear so 🙂

so many times I’ve swung through sorrow!

I was thinking of tree swings and wanted to draw it, it didn’t come out the way I wanted. But, it made me think of the motion of sitting there. Just swaying and being lost in thought.

Barely…….but still holding on.
Either that, or you fell off and into a hole, and that is your hair we see popping above the ground!

😂I actually thought that after I posted it. Unintentional but hilarious!

How did you get out?

I waited for someone to grab hold of my hair and give it a good yank. Funny enough there always seems to be someone willing to do that!

I used to love that. Just barely swinging on a tree, leaning forward and watching the ground move as I thought. I’m sure they were big thoughts for a child!

YES YES YES. Such an amazing feeling. ONe of the easiest ways to get lost in thought.

Sometimes holding on “just barely” is doing well! Memories and feelings and longings can really tug hard!

And the ‘just barely’ can also reference just swaying with the flow of the wind and not grasping at or doing constantly. I vote for more swaying!

More swaying creates a better place than barely holding on

I agree. In this context the ‘barely holding on’ was because holding on wasn’t necessary because of the comfort of the swaying. Thank you for commenting!!
