  1. But you continue to push past the twitching (Read: healthy knowledge of oneself)! it is a beautiful thing to have fear but not be held hostage by it…it makes us human, but able to experience all that life has to offer. My friend, I feel that you do!

    • THank you so much Sheri. When we were on the island off of Ireland I wanted to walk the entire island. I was so disappointed by myself that the fear won out. I went as far as I could….and then I couldn’t.

    • That’s a great way to say it PEter. I watch some of these climbers and bikers (bicycle) and I get so ‘jealous’ that I can’t do the things that intrigue me so. But I do balance that out with, I have done things I didn’t think I could. πŸ™‚

  2. Stared. How HOW did you draw on that picture? Amazed here! And yeah, fear makes the heart pound, the stomach flip, the hands shake, but MAN! it’s what makes for super growth to appear. Good for you overcoming your fear of heights, Colleen. I bet you felt 10 feet tall afterwards.

    • I have a drawing pad I use. I upload my picture, add a layer, and draw. That is actually me under the drawing. I’m holding my hiking stick in one hand and my sunglasses in my other hand. And my heart is racing and I have a river of sweat going down my back. I did not stand there long and I actually couldn’t even see over the cliff edge, just ‘past’ it. But it was a great day and I loved it.

  3. “The fears we don’t face become our limits.” – Robin Sharma. There was a time in my life when faced with overwhelming fear I would say to myself “you can do this”. What I learned in time was this, I became more successful when I told myself “you WILL do this!” Keep on keeping on! Love the hiker! Thank-you!

  4. I think you’ll be fine if you just remember not to get too close to the edge. πŸ™‚ My husband has a healthy (yes! phobia) fear of ledges. Heights are okay if he stands back. Aren’t we all funny with our different limits.
