Timely, as always. I have a verse that I’ve repeated to myself since childhood (and for some reason, I can only quote it in a condensed King James Version!) “Pride goeth before a fall.” It usually presents itself when I am focused on someone else’s weaknesses at the expense of failing to see my own. I love your disclaimer at the end, also – being honest with ourselves is not unkind – it’s the only way to truly grow. Hugs, Colleen – you are a wise woman!
Oh so true, Colleen. I agree. Still, I’m going to take your question as hypothetical. I’m sure you don’t REALLY want to know my ugly. Even I have to look at it with one eye kind of squinting! 🙂
Some would say that we cannot recognize in others what we haven’t experienced within ourselves.
Others say for every finger I point towards the other person there are three fingers pointing towards myself.
A good reflection Colleen 😉
Mirror mirror, on the wall
Will I ever reach my goal
Oh Ivor, ” don’t be tired and fall
You can still hold your pen, and scrawl”

May be the others ARE already our mirror?
We absorb vibrations and can only give back what is in us.

My mirror is pretty clear! (I mean, I can clearly see what it is telling me.)

Those squinty eyes are sometimes the only way we can see things through the glare! 😉

Self compassion is so important – truthfulness without kindness is not the right way.

Exactly Infinite! We can see our truths, even the ugly ones, and be kind to ourselves. And hopefully set forth to change them. 🙂
