  1. I must say, Colleen, I have never given this much thought, although I have always thought I was very quick at it. Recently my mother in law was staying with us and I watched as she slowly and carefully twisted the bag containing the loaf of bread, tying it into a gentle knot, before placing it calmly in the bread basket. And I reflected on how I just give it a quick twist, no knot, tuck the twist under the bag and whack it down in the basket. Bish bash bosh, Bob’s your uncle. It’s interesting how people do things so differently. So she probably spends more consecutive seconds than I do on tying the loaf bag, but we are both spending those seconds, and I doubt either of us has ever given it much thought! This is a great post, in the grand scheme of things, I suppose it is not wasted time. Any activity where one practices dexterity and uses their fine motor skills (e.g. knitting) is time well spent, no? Ah, who knows. You’ve opened a can of worms I’m afraid. πŸ˜€
