I don’t know that I can tell you all about me in an ‘about’ post.   That’s pretty much what my entire blog is about.   Life as I see it, hear it and think about it.

So much about the world and the people in it fascinate me.

But a little summary about me:    I come from a large family.  My past, which includes my ancestry, is always something I like to revisit and relearn from.  My present keeps me very busy.   My future is something I look forward to and keeps me focused on being as healthy as I can be.  What matters most:  my children, my greatchildren, my husband, my family, my country-America, Ireland, biking.   I have additional things I love like bicycles/bicycling,  TKD (retired from), food, Tim Horton’s, Coffee (though I am not a good coffee snob), tea, friends, home, and moments.    I live for those moments.

There’s more that I love and I’m still discovering it.  I don’t truly know all that I love.  I believe that the world has more for me to discover.   And I’m happy to oblige.

Anything that is said to me, anything that I see, anything that I hear or read about, or have crazy thoughts about are fodder for my blog.

I love to read.   Please share your blog with me if you have one, or your comments will do!

Thanks Bridgesburning! I might be lucky enough to fall upon a witticism every once in awhile! Thanks for reading! I shall check out your blog as well. 🙂

  3. Mary says:

I beg to differ my Irish friend, you are blessed with the dry and frank Irish wit. You call it like it is and use the written word to express what is true. I like it!!!

  4. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!! Hope it is the best day ever!

  5. Chip says:

What a gorgeous Cliffs of Moher picture! Yay you.

    • Chatter Master says:

Thanks for the “yay” Chip! Very good eye! It does look like the Cliffs doesn’t it? Actually though, it is on the Aran Island Inis Mor. I am standing at the “Black Fort”. But I am thrilled you see the similarity. Sometimes when I look at the pictures of there, and the pictures from the Cliffs Of Moher the only way I can tell the difference is by what I am wearing! 🙂

  6. […] https://bikecolleenbrown.wordpress.com/about/ I’M NOT VERY WITTY* Uhm.  That pretty much says it.  I am not very witty.  Though I love humor.  I can’t write funny.  But I can read funny.  I’ll write because I have something to say.  I’ll write because I need to physically write.  Love that process.  Sorry for anything dull.  Sorry for anything crappy.  But if you hit upon a gem…. YAY me! PATRECIA […]

  7. WordsFallFromMyEyes says:

That was a great ‘About me’ 🙂 I didn’t realise you came from a big family. It sort of made me think of “that issue” – I hope you understand. If I were in your position, I would feel so sick, wondering “why ME”.

You’re wonderful, Colleen, very live & very positive.

Lovely blog! Thanks for sharing your journey through life with us here. I too am in my forties, adore my hubby and two grown sons (well the youngest is 20 and he may be tall but still seems like a teen to me!). Looking forward to many more visits and would love to have you visit either (or both 😉 ) of my humble blogs. Cheers! ~Gina

  19. Subhan Zein says:

    Hello Chatter Master,

I would like to wish you a wonderful New Year. May 2013 bring you more happiness, love, and success. And in a country like Ireland, you are definitely lucky to have greater chances for success than in some parts of the world. I had a great time when I visited Ireland in 2009 and could not forget the wonderful people in there. Also, I would like to thank you because you continue following my blog. I hope my blog posts do not disappoint and that your visits in there have been a joyful ride. Thank you again, many blessings and much love to you. 🙂

    Subhan Zein

    • Hello Subhan Zein,

Thank you very much for the love and kindness. I need to clarify something though. I actually live in the USA. But I also very much love Ireland. My writing seems to have led MANY people to think I live in Ireland. 🙂 My apologies (trust me I have confused MANY on this).

      Ireland is beautiful isn’t it?

Your posts do not disappoint, I always look forward to them. thank you so much for taking the time to say these things.

I return the blessings and love with peace.

  20. Hey Colleen here’s my friends under cover site…i have to do this privately as he has found me and started bullying me. Could you pass it along to any who might be interested?

  21. Katie says:

Oh….I read your about … at first glance a lot of the things you talk about remind me of me…diet cokes, coffee, tea…the fact that you use the word ‘bazillion’…and of course Ireland.

And of course, thank you for visiting my blog today.

    • You are welcome Katie. Your name interested me. “Irish” is beautiful so when I see it, I follow to see what it is. Glad I did.

Thank you for coming along for a visit! 🙂 I hope you come back for another visit!

      • Irish Katie says:

🙂 How can I not visit. A lover of Ireland must be someone I come to visit. (And yes, I have perused through your Ireland blog posts nod nods)

I live now though, in the Pacific NW, USA … it reminds me of home sometimes… the weather anyway.

        • That makes me happy, that it sometimes reminds you of Ireland. If Husband is out walking (he walks to and from work and at lunch) he sends me a text saying “Irish weather” or “Irish walking”. Many things remind us of the perfect little Island.

  22. I want to visit Ireland some day… I kind of am very busy with a project with a DeafBlind son…
    My blog http://www.kodiakmylittlegrizzly.com
I’m trying to teach people about DeafBlind, CHARGE Syndrome and Scoliosis and also how a family can love this little person so much.

  23. StephenEdwards reblogged something of yours and I came over to check it (and your blog) out. You have a wonderful way with words. I’ll be looking around some more if you don’t mind 😉

  24. I am pleased to have found this blog this morning, in some circuitous fashion through Paulette (of Mildred Dunlap renown) I like your vibe! 🙂

    • Well Hello Charron’s Chatter (I like the name 😉 )

Welcome, and I will check out your vibe as well. I do believe Paulette has gathered quite a bunch of admiring followers. WE must have wonderfulness in common! 🙂

  25. Shel says:

I’ve just nominated your blog for a Liebster Award. Please check out the details at http://http://shelbur10.wordpress.com/2013/03/11/the-weekend-of-the-liebster/ Whether or not you choose to participate, please know that you are appreciated! (here’s hoping that link works…not my strong suit.)

  26. Glad that I stumbled across your stylish ramblings.

Always enjoy a witty outlook on day to day life so I will be following with interest.

  27. Wait a minute. Do you have Tim Horton’s in Ireland?! We have hardly a one in America, just south of Canada, eh. How do you have Tim Horton’s all the way over there? (Clearly, I am quite upset by my own lack of Horton-ness.)

    • Hi Betsy! Thank you for stopping over here. 🙂 Okay, I am starting to feel very bad. I need to go back and read my ‘about’ and my other stuff. I have misled MANY people to think I live in Ireland. OH HOW LOVELY that would be!

I live here in good ol’ USA. 🙂

I am fascinated with my heritage and ancestry and have been VERY blessed to travel to IReland four times now. Each time I think it is my last and I am truly happy with it.

Regarding Tim Horton’s….I did not find a full blown Tim Horton’s. BUT, I did find Tim HOrton’s “machines” in some convenience stops. So I truly understand your upset about lack of T. Horton!!!!

  28. Jessica says:

Love this description of yourself. Your blog name, too. And Diet Coke. Win!

    • HuntMode, thank you for hopping over for a visit! AND A FOLLOW!!! Bill is pretty good about sharing the love here. He’s awesome like that. I do get a bit of happiness when someone thinks I’m actually from Ireland, always a bonus! 🙂

I wanted to say thank you for saying nice things about my mom all the time and for being her friend. u have written a lot on her blog and I went to yours a lot to read what u wrote about her. i am still sad a lot but am trying not to as i know she wouldn’t want me sad all the time. i am sorry it took me so long to let to thank you. Rachel

    • Thank you for taking the time to find me DarkRavenGirl14. My heart hurts for you. For your beautiful mom. I suspect she would be very very proud of you for reaching out to others like you have been. I hope you find laughter and her very special “smirkles” in the things you shared and loved together. Be well Rachel. And thank you so much.

  41. Hello Colleen, thank you for the follow, I have looked over your site (sorry for not having done so earlier) I love the Irish – my son-in-law is and he is the most beautiful person. I have visited Ireland sadly only once, I adore it and long to return. As I was reading through the comments on this page I saw Katie’s post… and well.. I think you know how I feel. I shall now look forward to following you, as I like what I have seen. 🙂 Thank you. x

    • 🙂 Thank you RamblingsFAM. I know how busy we get in our blog world. Thank YOU for coming for a visit. It will be less costly for you to visit me than Ireland, though Ireland does make for splendid magic and memories doesn’t it? Like you, I adore it there. I bet you love to hear your son in laws voice! Nothing like the music of the Irish speaking to lift one’s heart.

I miss our Irish Katie, and I do understand how you feel. I think she would be so tickled that so many of us have connected through her.

      • Ireland is magical and I do want to return. Yes he has a lilt, though it is slowly turning into an Aussie one..and I don’t know if we ‘lilt’ as much lol when he first arrived I had to tell him to slow down so I could understand him.
Yes Katie, how I miss her greatly as we all do. She would be nodding and smirkling away if she could see us right now. xx

        • 🙂 That’s a happy thought. Katie smirkling.

And the Irish do talk quite fast! I think that is a trait I have inherited.

And I have to say I very much enjoy the sound of an “Aussie” talking. 😉

  42. You have a really nice blog here. Found you through Tric.

Happy Blogging!

    • Thank you Julie. I appreciate you coming over for a visit and staying with a ‘follow’. I’ll be back this weekend and hop over to see you. I look forward to discovering new people. Especially upbeat and interesting ones. 😉

  50. reocochran says:

I like to find out what makes people ‘tick’ in their about pages! This was a lovely introduction and it enticed me to ‘follow’ you! Best of luck in continuing all your pursuits and chattering about them, too! I started out just blogging about the single world of dating after fifty, then expanded with a byline of “relationships reveal our hearts!” Several of your followers, Mark and some of the females in your commenters I read, too! Smiles, Robin

    • Well another lovely person to follow back to their place and check out. That sounds kind of wrong if I say it out loud in a face to face setting. But in a blog to blog setting, I know it is completely appropriate and wonderful. 🙂 I shall be by for a visit! 🙂

  54. “Great Scott!” exclaimed the Canadian navigator of Irish ancestry, upon learning that Tim Hortons had successfully invaded Ireland.

As if I needed another reason to visit, someday.

  55. Brother Jon says:

I can connect to the part about anything being “fodder for my blog”, but the best part is when other people catch on to this. My brother and some of my friend from back home decided to drunk dial me this past weekend. About half way through the conversation someone in the background said “Uh-oh…we’re all going to be a blog post now!”

    • 🙂 Lucky you! Most of my family reads hit and miss. But I, on the other hand, have been known to experience a moment and shout ‘blog’!!!! Because an idea has overcome me.

  56. Hi Chatter Master!

It seems we have some friends/followers in common so I thought I’d pay you a visit. I look forward to reading your posts and wish you a lovely weekend!
    Lauren 🙂

  57. HI Chatter Master, found your blog through Eric Tonningsen’s. Looks like we both like a lot of the same things; I, too, like to notice all that’s around me. I look forward to reading more!

Thank you for thinking about my mom. The wedding for my uncle mike was really nice and she would have liked it a lot.

    • Oh Rachel, I’m so glad. I hope you loved being there as much as your mom did. Thank you, I really appreciate you letting me know. I hop over to your mom’s site just to “be” there for a bit sometimes.

  61. “I live for those moments.”- completely hooked me. One of my favorite memories of my ,fiance was early in our relationship. We were driving to the ferry in West Seattle for a day trip on one of the islands in Puget Sound. It was a crystal clear day, but a heavy fog had settled over downtown and the harbor. As we drove up a hill out of the fog, I asked him to pull over at the viewpoint overlooking the seen. All you could see was deep blue sky above and a thick, opaque duvet of white clouds tucked into the ground with only the tops of the tallest downtown skyscrapers and the surrounding hills peaking out from it. As we stood at the overlook, my eyes filled with tears from how beautiful it was. William quietly asked me, “Are you having a moment?” I nodded, and he reached for my hand and simply stood next to me silently for over 5 minutes until I had completely breathed it in and was ready to continue on our way. With that small gesture I knew he understood me as no one else ever had and I knew I wanted to spend my life with him. Moments, that’s all we really have.

  70. Hi Colleen, So happy to have found you. I’ve seen you on Jen’s( rambly) blog and I finally get to check out your lovely writing. Such a great way to introduce yourself.

  71. markbialczak says:

My Dear Buddy Colleen, I know know you are an Awards Free Blog. But … I just nominated you for the Premio Dardos Award regardless. It is for artistic creativity in writing. You are artistic and creative, my friend. I know awards are a pain, but I took this one because I think it is honorable, and so I wish to pass it on to you, too, even though I know you will not be accepting. It is the thought, and the link, that counts. 🙂

    • By golly Mark, that is one wonderful award! I’ll check it out! I am QUITE honored at you call me artistic and creative!!! That alone has me quite humbled and grateful. 🙂 Thank you my dear Buddy Mark!

    • Thank you! I fear I owe you an apology. I have had to apologize more than once for this. I love Ireland true and deep! But I live in the USA. I’ve been to Ireland often, but never often enough. And you are right to dream of going, it is truly a splendid land. And thank you, so very much, for your kind words about my blog.

    • Thank you Rachel. I had a wonderful day. We can’t help but worry about one another can we? I hope your grandma is doing okay.

I know how much your mom loved Ireland, but loved you more. 🙂 We “talked” about her being here because of marriage. But even after ….. she did love here. Because ‘here’ meant you and you were the most important thing to her. 🙂 I remember when she wrote about you cooking, making the meal plan, she was so happy for things like that with you.

My blog is rather new, but it is http://www.winingwriter.com. The main point of my blog is to review books, however, I still have a regular blog posts on there which I am updating more and more sharing my personal stories and things about my life. Truly nice to “meet” you / follow your blog! 🙂

    • Hello Kaleigh Jade. Welcome to WordPress. I love the name of your blog and will take a look. 🙂

I am amused every time I consider myself a coffee drinker. I’m an adult, but never considered myself adult enough to drink coffee. I feel like I’m doing something wrong. 😉
