I don’t know that I can tell you all about me in an ‘about’ post. That’s pretty much what my entire blog is about. Life as I see it, hear it and think about it.
So much about the world and the people in it fascinate me.
But a little summary about me: I come from a large family. My past, which includes my ancestry, is always something I like to revisit and relearn from. My present keeps me very busy. My future is something I look forward to and keeps me focused on being as healthy as I can be. What matters most: my children, my greatchildren, my husband, my family, my country-America, Ireland, biking. I have additional things I have loved, like bicycles/bicycling, TKD (retired from), food, Tim Horton’s, Coffee (though I am not a good coffee snob), tea, friends, home, and moments. I live for those moments.
There’s more that I love and I’m still discovering it. I don’t truly know all that I love. I believe that the world has more for me to discover. And I’m happy to oblige.
Anything that is said to me, anything that I see, anything that I hear or read about, or have crazy thoughts about are fodder for my blog. My thoughts are expressed often with “I” or “You” but that doesn’t mean it’s about me or you. It’s a thought expressed in general terms.
You are a gem. Yay for me.

“I live for those moments.”- completely hooked me. One of my favorite memories of my ,fiance was early in our relationship. We were driving to the ferry in West Seattle for a day trip on one of the islands in Puget Sound. It was a crystal clear day, but a heavy fog had settled over downtown and the harbor. As we drove up a hill out of the fog, I asked him to pull over at the viewpoint overlooking the seen. All you could see was deep blue sky above and a thick, opaque duvet of white clouds tucked into the ground with only the tops of the tallest downtown skyscrapers and the surrounding hills peaking out from it. As we stood at the overlook, my eyes filled with tears from how beautiful it was. William quietly asked me, “Are you having a moment?” I nodded, and he reached for my hand and simply stood next to me silently for over 5 minutes until I had completely breathed it in and was ready to continue on our way. With that small gesture I knew he understood me as no one else ever had and I knew I wanted to spend my life with him. Moments, that’s all we really have.

I like your blog, and I’m glad I found it today. I like your wit and plain spoken ways. I wish I had more of that myself. I like that you are from Ireland. I’ve always dreamed of that land. Maybe one day I will be able to see it in reality. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. 🙂

Thank you! I fear I owe you an apology. I have had to apologize more than once for this. I love Ireland true and deep! But I live in the USA. I’ve been to Ireland often, but never often enough. And you are right to dream of going, it is truly a splendid land. And thank you, so very much, for your kind words about my blog.

Thank you Rachel. I had a wonderful day. We can’t help but worry about one another can we? I hope your grandma is doing okay.
I know how much your mom loved Ireland, but loved you more. 🙂 We “talked” about her being here because of marriage. But even after ….. she did love here. Because ‘here’ meant you and you were the most important thing to her. 🙂 I remember when she wrote about you cooking, making the meal plan, she was so happy for things like that with you.

By the fact that you love Tim Hortons coffee I wonder where you reside? I have just began following your blog, so I’m sure after some surfing around your site I’ll find out! I’m from Buffalo (born here, living here now, but grew up in South Florida) and I was completely surprised at how popular (and delicious!) Tim Hortons coffee was!!
My blog is rather new, but it is http://www.winingwriter.com. The main point of my blog is to review books, however, I still have a regular blog posts on there which I am updating more and more sharing my personal stories and things about my life. Truly nice to “meet” you / follow your blog! 🙂

Thanks for signing up to my old WordPress blog. I don’t post there now. All my work can be found on Substack (https://juliansummerhayes.substack.com/) and my self-hosted blog.
