This Is A Little Embarrassing

Though embarrassing….it is a time in life to celebrate!

Embarrassing because by this point in most people’s lives they are making plans to live the high life.  Celebrate the children growing (being grown) up.  And life enters an entirely new stage of experiences.   Life without children.  Life without having to account your life to taking care of your children because they are taking care of themselves.

Until you realize…

You are pregnant.

My youngest is almost twenty two.

The only babies I’ve had for the last twenty years have been someone else’s.

Lord almighty is this a blessing?  Of course it is!  Or is this His sense of humor reminding me that my life is to fulfill His will?   Of course it is!

Whatever possessed Him to think I needed a baby now, is beyond me.

I suppose, since we weren’t expecting it, I will let Husband find out the surprise along with the rest of you.

Do you realize that I have three grandchildren who will be older  than this baby?  Three!!!

Perhaps I should get my camera and take a picture of Husband when I tell him my blog is posted….  It will be a great memory for the baby.   Our first picture for his/her album!

I am nervous.  Excited.   I know there will be lots of ‘flack’ to deal with from family and friends thinking I am too old.  But if I was too old it wouldn’t have happened.  Right?  Things happen for a reason.   Just so you know…I am posting this here as my way of telling my family.  I am very nervous about their reaction.

Wish me luck!

And for those of you finding out via this blog….my apologies.

For those of you who don’t read this blog….well you’ll find out eventually.

I told the Husband.

I didn’t expect him to be this shocked.

No worries.

A little ice pack on the back of his head, he’s doing okay.

He forgot it was April Fool’s Day!
